Besides her work in journalism, Ms. Reimers is, and has been since the beginning of her career, an activist and advocate for women’s human rights, women’s empowerment, and the elimination of violence against women and girls in media as well as outside it. Her role as a spokesperson focuses on the socio-cultural transformation of gender equality in the fields of sports and media. She has been a trailblazer for women and girls in fields where they have been historically excluded.

Ms. Reimers is one of the most prominent figures in sports journalism in Latin America. In 2015, she became the first Mexican woman to be nominated for a Sports Emmy by the Television Academy. For 15 years she was part of FOX Sports Latin America, covering the most important sporting events in the world, including the UEFA Champions League. In 2019, she became the first woman to act as a commentator for the final.

She is currently part of TNT Sports as an analyst and commentator for the UEFA Champions League.

She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Torcuato Di Tella University and La Nación newspaper in Argentina. She has a bachelor’s degree in social communication from Tec de Monterrey.

As UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador for Mexico, Ms. Reimers attended the Observance of International Women’s Day at United Nations Headquarters in 2023. She participated in a panel discussion on digital violence, as well as the challenges of technology and innovation to achieve gender equality. As a writer, Ms. Reimers has collaborated with the New York Times, and her first book, “Play Like a Girl!”, was published on 16 April 2021.

In May 2021, Ms. Reimers joined the minority investor group of the Washington Spirit, a champion in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), establishing her work with the Hispanic community in the United States and building a bridge with the Mexican National League.

She is co-founder and president of Somos Versus, a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose goal is to combat discrimination based on gender, class, and race, to make the content of sports journalism better, and to seek more opportunities for marginalized groups and minorities.
