TransformCare is UN Women’s global initiative to address the undervaluing and unequal division of care work and improve the lives of women and girls worldwide. It advances a vision of care as central to thriving, sustainable, and just economies, where care is valued as a public good, recognized as skilled and essential work, and understood as the foundation of equality and shared economic prosperity.

The brochure outlines why care is essential yet undervalued and unequal, and how investing in care systems can deliver benefits for women, society, and the economy. It presents TransformCare’s global reach, its three interconnected outcomes, and the pathways to change across governments and intergovernmental institutions, businesses, caregivers, and care recipients. It also presents the initiative’s strategic added value, key results achieved since 2020, and the partnerships that support its work across countries and regions.
