Regular resources, also known as voluntary “core” resources and “unearmarked contributions,” are the foundation of UN Women’s work. They are the flexible, predictable, and catalytic funding that enable the organization to deliver on its triple mandate—normative, coordination, and operational—across all regions and contexts. They allow UN Women to respond to crises, sustain long-term efforts, and drive systemic change for women and girls worldwide.

In 2025, 74 funding partners contributed USD 142 million in regular resources. The trust placed in UN Women by our funding partners, their political engagement in support of gender equality and women’s empowerment, and their financial backing allowed UN Women to work in 83 countries and presences.

The report demonstrates how these resources advance results across global, regional, and country levels—from strengthening laws and policies to advancing coordination across the UN system, delivering tangible improvements in the lives of women and girls. As progress for women and girls faces increasing pressures, regular resources are essential to protecting hard-won gains and advancing lasting change.
